tldr: a list of the places i talk about in reference
One of my biggest issues when it comes to writing, texting, and in general talking- is that I often refer to things through a description as opposed to their names. Especially places that are fairly important to me, or that I have spent a lot of time at growing up. So, I have decided to start an appendix of said places. This list is bound to grow over the next year as I begin to realize how much I do this. Hopefully, I will stop sounding like the title to a Friends episode. Understood if this goes unread by a vast majority of y’all- if anything this is for me logistically.
My Local Coffee Shop (aka: The One With Booths/a Community Table):
“The Revue”. This is where I started my low-key addiction to caffeine, and where I did most of my homework over the last four years. There is a backroom where performances, poetry slams, and weekend pop-up shops occur. This is one of my favorite places in Fresno.

My Local Coffee Shop- not the Revue (aka: The Christian One, The One by Ampersand, The One Super Close to School):
“Kuppa Joy”. The Revue is undoubtedly my favorite coffee place- but this is a close second. See, The Revue is great, but it takes me under a half-hour to walk to and from Kuppa Joy. And their community thrives just as much. Only downside: closed on Sundays, but that makes sense (see aka section). Yet another place I did a lot of my homework. This is nearby Ampersand.

My School: (aka: In My Math [Insert Number Here] Class, Where I Tutored):
“Design Science/Fresno City College”. The high school and college I attended between 2016-2020. My experience here was amazing, and I will always be down to answer any questions anyone has about it. Some people want to forget about high school, but that isn’t me. Although, hopefully (soon) “My School” becomes MIT when referring to it. Subject to updating.
Both are located on the same campus, so differing between them largely depends on context. If I am talking about Freshman or Sophomore year, I am likely referring to the high school. If I am talking about a math class that comes after Algebra 2, I am referring to the college.

My Local Ice Cream Shop (aka: The Ice Cream Shoppe, The Ice Cream Place by FCC):
“Ampersand”. This amazing hand-scooped ice cream place is located just a few blocks away from my school- making it the perfect after school desert. New flavors every month, and I have had a new flavor every month for the last year. It is owned by the same people who own the Revue. Good people. This is nearby Kuppa Joy.

My Local Theater (aka: RR, The Theater by the Revue, The Location Most Shows I have Watched/Reference):
“Roger Rockas”. An awesome dinner theater in Fresno. Shows I have watched here include but are not limited to: Footloose, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, The Man of La Mancha. My friend group is big into musicals, and the majority of them are regularly in performances. Have spent many evenings at the Revue doing homework and then walking over to watch a show.

My Local Math Group (aka: FMC, The One At Fresno State):
“Fresno Math Circle”. An amazing math group that I have had the opportunity to be a part of. Meetings every other Thursday at Fresno State. This is where I got my first experience with “college-style” math. The type of math people warn you about before when you say you want to be a math major while in high school. Highly recommend for any high school students in/around Fresno.

The Theater in Los Angeles (aka: The One in “LA”/”SoCal”):
“The Ahmanson”. Here I saw Fun Home, Ain’t To Proud before it hit Broadway, and Dear Evan Hansen with my friends. [I also watched a very confusing performance of The Red Shoes ballet. That was a trip.] The only reason my family was able to go was because of student pricing– it was a brilliant opportunity.

I hope to start using their names more when I reference them. But until then here’s a list! Plus, it’ll be a good way to keep the location of blog posts about places I talk about often.
This Appendix is Subject to Updates.
